So much going on...

Last week, May 20-23 all the intermediate students and staff, a big group of great counsellors and the staff of Camp Jubilee were away - and while our primary children were here busy working and having their own fun, much went on over at the construction site.

These photos are compliments of the team from Yellowridge Construction.  We are so excited to see the work that is happening, and over the course of the coming three month, huge changes will continue to take place.  Stay tuned…

Be away a couple of days...

and look at what happens!  Since my last posting on our blog, the 'diggers' have disappeared, the steel has arrived and some exterior walls at the west end and foundations on the easterly portion of the site have been poured.  The buzz of activity has paralleled the better weather and we can expect to see much continued progress over the coming weeks.

Thanks to everyone for their support - the workers, the children and staff,  our good neighbours, and our faithful parishioners - and our Pastor, Father Terry, who announced his retirement at Masses on the weekend.  We are most grateful.

Moving East...

on the site, you can see that the construction crews have completed excavation!  These photos show what is the beginning to be the stages of forming the side walls at the east end of the site. Over the course of the following week,  much work will take place to prepare for the major concrete pouring by Friday next week.

We know that Yellowridge is glad to be out of the ground… especially with all the rain that has come in the past month.  They must be tired of coming very early in the morning to pump out the previous night's rainfall!

The excavation continues

and for those of you who come by our site regularly, you've watched as the 'diggers' scrape away more and more of the old foundation, brick work and existing tiles from the 103 year old school "buried" on our site.
It's been a huge job - and has taken a long time to excavate, but we've been told that over the coming two weeks the excavation will be complete, the foundation and walls will be formed and the crews will start the below ground block work.

The coordination and planning that has taken place is amazing to us 'amateurs' who peek through the fences each day.  We appreciate the sharing of information and updates that the Yellowridge team provides us - and are grateful that many keep themselves updated on our progress.

PS.  On this past Monday, Mr. Arntzen our music teacher, had us outside on what remains of our playground, serenading the construction crew as it was MUSIC MONDAY across Canada - and we sang for our great crew. It was really fun for all!
