These Precious, Holy Nights...

Christmas has come, beautiful liturgies were shared in our Church, families have gathered and we relish in the sacred that is this holy season.

May each of the days ahead be opportunities for you to be grace to one another - to seek out those unique situations, relationships or events that need your presence, and may you be GRACE...

Blessings on this holy season.

A Holy Night

We gathered together as a community of Faith tonight for our annual Advent Concert. In the setting of our beautiful Church, surrounded by families and friends in of the School and Parish, our children prayed and sang us through the story of the JESSE TREE... and the rich and powerful stories of the Old Testament, where 10 distinctive people of history HEARD THE CALL, and chose to live their lives in response to God's love for them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us ~ and thank you for joining in our concluding song, "O Holy Night" lead beautifully by our Mr. Arntzen.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Tom Arntzen gets Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement

It's always wonderful to celebrate and share the successes of those in our community ~ and Mr. Arntzen's recognition as the recipient of the Yamaha Scholarship award at VCC is one such person!  Congratulations, Tom - we are thankful for your leadership in music here at St. Augustine's and thrilled that others recognize your talent.

Wednesday 11 December 2013

As we do each Advent, today students of Grades 3-7 and their teachers visited the Church for our Advent School Reconciliation.  It's a peaceful, prayerful time when we all are blessed with the grace of this sacrament of forgiveness. This coming Friday, at 7:00 in the evening, our Parish hosts a Reconciliation Service - all are welcome -  God's grace of healing could be just what is needed to really bring the peace of Jesus into our lives.  Blessings in this third week of Advent!

Monday 2 December 2013

Congratulations to all our terrific students for their successful completion of our first term!  Thanks to teachers, support staff and parents for all the help that went into ensuring so much success throughout each grade.

These three weeks of December allow us to celebrate the season of Advent, and through prayer provide opportunities for serving the needs of others. In preparation for our Advent Concert on December 18, we move more eagerly towards Christmas. Consider what you might do to bring hope and joy to others by donating items towards the needs of the women of Sancta Maria House, the Food Bank, the Oblate Mission Schools in Kenya or the charity of your choice.  Blessings in this first week of Advent!
